Mission Statement:
Provide scientifically-valid, preventative, proactive, holistic health services to corporations and individuals to increase the employee’s health, and productivity while lowering costs from absenteeism and turnover due to obesity, poor dietary habits, stress, sickness, and injuries.
Methods:
By utilizing proven-scientific assessment and training methods, Principle-Centered Health will educate, and motivate individuals to take responsibility for their health by delivering services and demonstrating strategies which enhance their wellness. The programs will be designed around a companies needs, budget, and logistical limitations. It can be as simple as a noon-time walking program to a comprehensive, medically-supervised program.
Wellness strategies include:
Delivering comprehensive fitness assessments, and thoroughly explaining what the results mean to their health and how it should guide their future health strategies.
Showing employees ways to exercise that will fit their lifestyle and interests. This may include an on-site exercise class which can be sculpted to accommodate the needs of the group. This might be: a) Salsa and Mamba dancing b) boot-camp like exercises c) yoga and pilates exercises d) weight and resistance training e) walking.
Teaching employees how to care for their own health via: a) lectures on site, with a "healthy-catered" meal b) Taking employees to a Farmer's Market and teaching them to select and prepare produce c) performing dietary analysis and consultation on an individual basis.
Holistic Nutritional Strategies is a program developed by Mark P. Kelly, Ph.D., which incorporates all aspects of getting a nutritious meal into your body. It starts by taking groups on grocery shopping tours. The tours will demonstrate not only what to look for that is good, but what to avoid and the deceptive labeling practices.
On-site lectures on specific topics will be filled with an abundance of practical examples, and easy to comprehend take home points. Health cooking classes will show individuals ways to “trim the fat” out of their diets, uses spices and healthy oils, and control portion sizes. It will also take traditionally unhealthy dishes and transform them into great tasting lower-fat culinary delights.
Finally, the individual will design their own unique diets and wellness program, which takes their own schedule commitments and obligations into account as well as the mind, body, and nutrition components taught to them by Principle-Centered Health. This is critical for "ownership" and committment.
Follow-up coaching and counseling is a key factor for success as well. Principle Centered Health has a team of stress management specialists, counselors, and neuro-linguistic programming specialists which can help as needed. In addition, motivational programs offering various incentives can be designed in coordination with HR services.
